Real Circumstance Theatre Company was set up in 2006 with three aims: to produce innovative theatre consisting of new writing by emergent writers, and new plays created by the Company through long-term real-time improvisation; to help young theatre-practitioners develop their crafts both before and after professional training; and to raise the profile of Essexand the Eastern Region as a national centre of creative artistic work.
In our plays we explore human narratives that exsit in detailed, three-dimensional, worlds. All our work is underpinned by a process of rehearsal in which actors are encouraged to create fully-realised imaginary selves, who are able to respond truthfully to any given circumstance.
It's a really great way to find, see, and establish contact with exciting new artist and companuies!
LOUGH/RAIN premieres at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
Real Circumstance with York Theatre Royal / Escalator East to Edinburgh present:
LOUGH/RAIN by Declan Feenan and Clara Brennan
Two new plays interwoven as one.
In the wake of a terrible accident, Michael and Caoimhe rebuild their lives as best they can. But all Michael can remember is the boat out on the lough that never should have been there. The barometer points to rain as the young couple realise they might not grow old together.
A lyrical exploration of loss and love.
